What's Going On

Bent Creek saw some progress yesterday. I stitched on the Easter block while I watched The Rock with Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage. I have seen it before and its a great movie.
I noticed my little doggie was back on my weather pixie. I guess he will come and go with the weather.
I have been researching all the breeds and with the help of DD and I really like the Chihuahua and Poms. Now to find one, in our area, to fit our budget since some are very expensive. Ours will be a pet only. We want white with a little tan. We also need one that will be around 4-5 pounds only becasue we will paper/liter train since we work. I would not mind buying one that is already a 3-6 months old if it has be worked on with potty training. I think either personality will work great for our family. We do have an inside cat but she likes dogs. My daughter has a mini pin. who comes over to play sometimes. They get along great. With her winning personality, I am sure they will become friends.

Good for you on your stitching progress.

Have you checked into your local pet shelter? We got our pure bred through them, they highly screen potential owners so that the dog isn't put into a puppy mill situation. We are so happy with our pet adoptions...great pets!

Poms are cute little dogs...and they can be quite sassy! Of course most small breeds can be sassy...the whole thing of having a 'tude to compensate for their small size. :-)

I'd second the suggestion of trying your local animal control shelter or Humane Society/ASPCA shelter. They often have purebred dogs available for adoption. You can also do a search on Petfinder.com. While your local shelter may not have anything at the moment, you might find a perfect little dog in a neighboring shelter.

Good luck!

I would highly recommend against getting any pet from a store. They're bred in puppy mills. Those poor mothers. I got both my Poms from breeders, one locally... and one from across the country. Again, be careful and ask to see if the parents are on the premises and where the dogs are kept. I visited one home breeder and the place reeked like urine. So bad that my niece's and my eyes were watering by the time we left. Good luck with finding your Pom. They're loads of fun! If you have any questions, feel free to email me. :)
